Meetings: 4th Wednesdays of every month at the Community Center Voting Room at 7:00 p.m. YOUNGWOOD 9TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY YARD SALE will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 7AM to 5PM. The entire town will be buzzing with activity. Residents, businesses, organizations, and churches will be offering great bargains. Local churches will offer their facilities and restrooms where you can enjoy a leisure break and a variety of foods including breakfast. Flyers with maps and listings will be available at the firemen's booth, Bayers Pharmacy, Haydens Pharmcy, S. & T. Bank, First Commonwealth Bank, Sunoco, Community Center, and Library from June 9-13 REGISTRATION is necessary for participation. To register Youngwood participants may pick up their forms after April 22 at the Community Center, Library, Haydens, and Bayers. Costs is $2 for a listing, $3 to list items, $10 for an advertisement on the flyer. This covers all advertising and publicity. Questions?? Call Mary Ann Klingensmith 724-925-2480 Again this year we will have our CHRISTMAS HOME AND CHURCH TOUR ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2009 This will be held on the 2nd weekend in December. Last year it was on a Saturday. In conjunction with Youngwood Library which is a part of the Greensburg/Hempfield Library system, we will be sponsoring a Christmas Wonderland. This date and information will be forthcoming. OUR BIG PROJECT IS TO RAISE MONEY FOR AN ELECTRONIC EVENTS SIGN IN THE PARKLET. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE PROJECT AND WILL COST BETWEEN $15,000 TO $20,000. TWO PAST PROJECTS WE DID WITH FUND RAISING WAS TO PURCHASE THE NATIVITY FIGURES IN THE PARKLET AT CHRISTMAS AND THE PAVILION AT THE 5-STAR TRAIL IN THE PAUL "SKIP" KLINGENSMITH MEMORIAL PARK.. WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS, WE HAVE 13 ACTIVE MEMBERS AT THIS TIME. THERE IS NO MEMBER SHIP FEES JUST YOUR TIME, IDEAS, DEDICATION TO MAKING OUR TOWN EVEN BETTER. |
